BIG TTV IS MOVING IN 2027! OPEN AT OUR WESTWOOD LOCATION UNTIL DEC 2026!
Quick answer: Twin Thrift Vintage is not closing. Big TTV has outgrown our current 350-square-foot space at Westwood in Ellicott City, and our time there will wrap up at the end of 2026. Mini TTV in Olney is staying put, and we’re now looking for the right home for the next version of Big TTV in 2027.
And honestly? We’re really excited.
Because this isn’t a story about Big TTV getting smaller.
We started Twin Thrift Vintage online in 2020.
We opened our first brick-and-mortar shop in Ellicott City in 2024.
We expanded to Olney in 2025.
And somewhere along the way, this little vintage business became much bigger than the 350 square feet we currently call home at Westwood.
We want more room for you to shop.
More room for the weird, colorful, wonderful things we find.
More opportunities for events.
More collaboration with neighboring businesses.
More ways to show up for the community around us.
More TTV.
So, yes: We’ve outgrown Westwood.
And now we get to figure out what comes next.
We built a LOT in 350 square feet
If you’ve visited Big TTV, you already know:
It is little. Like…really little. 😂
Our entire current footprint is approximately 350 square feet.
And that includes the doorway, walkways, displays and all the space required for actual human beings to move around the shop.
Within that space, we’ve somehow managed to fit clothing, jewelry, glassware, art, books, home decor, collectibles, furniture and a steady stream of things one of the us (read as: Ali) definitely said: “We’ll find room for it.”
We restock every week.
And people keep coming back.
That’s what makes us especially proud.
We’ve learned how much we can do with very little physical space.
Now we want to see what happens when we give TTV room to grow.
From an online vintage shop to two physical locations
When we started Twin Thrift Vintage in 2020, we did not have some elaborate retail expansion strategy.
We were just two twin sisters. One love of vintage.
And apparently very little ability to walk away from a good piece of glassware.
What started online eventually became Big TTV in Ellicott City.
Then came Mini TTV at Olney Antique Village.
And through every version of the business, the idea has stayed the same:
Things that make you stop.
Things that remind you of somebody.
Things that are a little weird.
Things you absolutely did not come in looking for but suddenly cannot leave without.
That’s TTV.
Then came the TTV Effect
Over the last couple of years, we started noticing something.
Someone would discover us online.
Then they’d visit the shop.
Then they’d come back with their mom.
Or their sister.
Or a friend who was “just coming along” and somehow left carrying three glasses and a jacket.
They’d share their find.
Tell someone else about us.
Come back to see what we restocked.
Grab lunch nearby.
Visit another local shop.
And suddenly one little vintage store had given someone another reason to spend time in the community around it.
We started calling that: The TTV Effect.
It’s the idea behind one of our favorite ways to describe what we’ve built:
We don’t just occupy a storefront. We give people a reason to visit.
And what started inside a very small store has developed a reach much bigger than its physical footprint.
Okay, we’re going to humble brag for a minute 💅
We like receipts. And we worked really hard to build this business.
So we're allowing ourselves this section.
In 2026, through September, Twin Thrift Vintage generated more than:
Between April and September, our Ellicott City Google Business Profile generated more than:
and more than:
Big TTV has a 4.9-star Google rating across 39 reviews.
One of our favorite reviews described visiting us like this:
“Every visit feels like a treasure hunt.”
Which might be the highest compliment you could give us.
That’s exactly what we want TTV to feel like.
We’ve also been featured by WMAR, Baltimore Banner, The Patch - Ellicott City, WJZ and Voyage Baltimore, and Twin Thrift Vintage has earned two Baltimore Sun Best of Howard honorable mentions for Antiques and Thrift/Retail.
All with a flagship shop that occupies approximately 350 square feet.
But the TTV Effect isn't really about numbers
The stats are fun.
But the best evidence that this business has grown usually isn’t sitting in a dashboard.
It’s the person who comes back every week to see what’s new.
The shopper who brings her daughter the next time.
The photos you send us after a vintage find makes it home.
The person who picks something up and immediately tells us it reminds them of their grandmother.
The customer who walks through the door because someone said:
“YOU HAVE TO GO THERE.”
That’s the part we want more room for.
We want TTV to be part of the community around it
One of the biggest things we’ve learned from opening a physical store is that we don't want TTV to simply exist in a community.
We want to participate in it.
That has meant local events and collaborations.
It has meant becoming Visit Howard County members.
It has meant Ali joining the Ellicott City Partnership board.
It has also meant finding ways for this little business to give back.
Organizations Twin Thrift Vintage has supported include:
BARCS
Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center
Maryland Food Bank
Pride Center of Maryland
And we want to do more.
Eventually, we'd love to work with local partners to offer practical social media and marketing workshops that help neighboring small businesses grow their own audiences, too.
Because the TTV Effect shouldn’t only benefit TTV.
A great local business district works because people have multiple reasons to visit.
And we want our next home to give us even more opportunities to be part of that.
Which brings us back to Westwood
We’re proud of what we’ve built at Westwood. Really proud.
But we've outgrown our current space.
Our shoppers have felt it. We have felt it.
There is only so much you can do inside 350 total square feet.
We want more room for shoppers to wander.
More room for inventory.
More flexibility in how we display what we find.
More opportunities for events.
More ways to collaborate with the businesses around us.
And a stronger connection between TTV and the neighborhood it calls home.
Our current space at Westwood no longer fits everything we want Big TTV to become.
Big TTV is still open at Westwood.
We’re still restocking. We’re still sourcing.
We’re still bringing home things we absolutely did not have room for when we bought them.
And we’re going to have some fun with the rest of our time in this little shop.
We have a series of moving-sale weekends planned, with different weekends highlighting different categories throughout Big TTV.
Different finds. Different sales.
Plenty of reasons to keep visiting.
And yes: we are still bringing in new inventory.
Meanwhile, Mini TTV at Olney Antique Village is staying exactly where it is and will continue operating as usual.

Big TTV has outgrown its current space at Westwood.
Our current shop operates in approximately 350 total square feet. We want the next Big TTV location to give customers more room to shop and give us more opportunities to host events, display inventory, work with neighboring businesses and participate in the surrounding community. We aren't simply looking for another storefront. We're looking for a space that lets Big TTV grow.
Big TTV’s current Westwood chapter wraps up at the end of 2026, and we're planning the next chapter of Big TTV for 2027. We'll continue sharing shopping dates, moving-sale events and location updates along the way.
We haven't announced Big TTV's next address yet. We're currently exploring spaces and talking with property owners. When there is a new Big TTV location to announce, you'll hear it directly from us.
Our current Big TTV shop at Westwood occupies approximately 350 total square feet. That includes circulation, entry and display space—not just merchandise. We've learned how to do a LOT with that little footprint, but we'd love more breathing room in Big TTV's next home.

Yes, but we're not turning Big TTV into one giant liquidation sale. We're planning a series of special moving-sale weekends featuring different categories throughout the shop. Follow Twin Thrift Vintage on Facebook and Instagram for the event calendar and specific sale details.
Absolutely. We're continuing to source and restock Big TTV throughout the transition. Apparently preparing to move has done nothing to cure us of buying vintage. 😂
The TTV Effect is our name for what happens when someone discovers Twin Thrift Vintage, visits the shop, tells a friend, shares a find, comes back to see what's new and explores other businesses around us. It represents the idea at the heart of how we think about physical retail: We don't just occupy a storefront. We give people a reason to visit.
